Great first impression for me. The last dentist I regularly went to for many years sold his practice a couple years ago and since then I've been to three other dentists that were all less than amazing. Far less. But that wasn't the case with this office. What stands out the most is that I was treated like a person rather than like a wallet. I went in with a problem tooth so I wasn't expecting some great news. But I was prepared for some argument about x-rays (I did get x-rays today but it wasn't a 'do this or get out' conversation, more I was reassured that if I was wrong about it being more than a year they'd work with me). Or an argument about how they can't do a cleaning unless I was committed to them doing all dental work they desire. I've even had dentists try to tell me they needed to do extra work so they don't get in trouble for insurance fraud. Just the worst luck with dentists. None of that was the case at Merwe's office. They managed to get me in really fast (same day although I might not expect that to always be possible). The woman who had me sign forms was super nice and patient and answered all the questions I have about stuff I sign (I'm one of those that needs to understand what I sign my name to). The hygienist was fast and efficient (she went straight for the water-pick which is great for me), she was nice and friendly while still being able to deliver worse news than I anticipated regarding the problem tooth I have. My teeth haven't felt as clean since the periodontal cleaning I had 10 years ago. The dentist was great too. Took the time to explain some of the issues that may show up on the horizon (I have a couple of really old fillings) and he took the time to show me something not tooth related that might imply something going on in one of my sinuses. He was able to explain the choice I have to make regarding my problem tooth and the costs associated. Straight talk that set it up as a decision for me to make. Sorry for such a long review... I was impressed. Clean teeth with a clear diagnosis of what I need to do with my one problem tooth, no run-around, no aggressive tactics, no pain... I highly recommend these guys.
